Preserving the coastal ecology and natural beauty that surrounds The Reserve at St. Charles Bay is a priority we embrace and actively uphold.
Bordering Goose Island State Park and the Aransas Refuge, The Reserve at St. Charles Bay safeguards pristine bays and over 500 wildlife species. As dedicated stewards, we preserve this coastal paradise so future generations can experience its natural beauty and abundant life.
And… it is being carefully developed to stay that way.
The team behind The Reserve at St. Charles Bay fundamentally believes in environmental conservation – building in ways that keep our bay waters healthy and allow marine and wildlife to thrive.
Thoughtful development means The Reserve at St. Charles Bay will remain pristine for generations to come.
The Team’s Approach Includes:
Planting and growing over 225 acres of wetlands on the property and surrounding waters
Deeding over acres to Goose Island State Park to be maintained in perpetuity as a foraging preserve for Whooping Cranes.
Designing a canal system with curves to allow nature tidal flow, no debris accumulation, and healthy habitat for marine life.
Eco-engineered bulkheads and drainage systems mitigate run-off
Over 225 acres of critical coastal habitat have been conserved, enhanced, and newly created, including:
9+ acres wetlands deeded in perpetuity to the Texas State Park System to protect endangered Whooping Crane and wildlife habitat.
6+ acres marine environment created directly off the community’s shorelines to prevent erosion and serve as feeding grounds for Redfish, Speckled Trout, and 100+ species of marine life.
15+ acres wetlands teeming with wildlife along the community’s boardwalk forever protected, enhanced, and conserved through shoreline erosion management.
28+ acres of intertidal wetlands newly created and conserved to provide critical habitat for the area’s abundant migratory waterfowl.
70,000+ individual aquatic plant specimens critical to fish spawn and duck migration harvested (by hand so as to protect the delicate aquatic environment) from existing habitat and transplanted to create habitat in new areas.
New oyster beds created along the community’s shoreline to create structure for marine life and promote water filtration.
Canals purposefully designed oversized and with curves to create natural water flow, thereby promoting healthy marine ecology and preventing debris collection within the waterway.
State-of-the-art rainwater filtration system throughout the community designed to control runoff carrying pollutants from entering our bay system.
Construction and development practices specifically designed, through environmental impact studies, to reduce impacts to surrounding marine life.
Surrounded by 400 square miles of navigable Gulf waters, this is your chance to build a custom home right on the water-complete with your own dock, quiet mornings on the bay, and private community amenities when the day’s catch is done.
