HERE’S SOMETHING TO WINE ABOUT

THE 25TH ANNUAL ROCKPORT WINE FESTIVAL

On Saturday May 28th, the Texas Maritime Museum opens its grounds for the Annual Rockport Wine Festival! This celebration, traditionally a wine festival, has evolved to include food, retail wares, and live music, becoming one of Rockport’s most anticipated community events. In addition to the many purveyors of fine wine, you can expect restaurant and food offerings, along with multiple retail vendors and craft-makers promoting their businesses and selling their wares. This year’s premier musical lineup includes The Texas Continentals from 3 to 6 p.m., Jade Patek from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and Elvie Shane from 8:30 to 10 p.m.

This event draws thousands of visitors, not just from Rockport, but all over Texas and beyond.

Become a patron, buy a table, and join the Mayor, the County Judge, and commissioners at the Kickoff Party on Thursday the 26th. This event will feature food, drink, and entertainment, both live and silent auctions, and you could win the raffle for a giant Yeti cooler stuffed with surprises!

The Rockport Wine and Food Festival has grown and become much more than a simple fundraiser, and as Museum Director, Justin Parkoff says, “The Festival has become a community collaboration bringing guests from as far away as Canada and making it one of the town’s most popular shindigs!”

$25 gains you admission and 5 wine tickets. Then you can eat, drink, and enjoy the Country, Southern Rock, Blues, and Soul musicians in shaded tents from 2 to 11 p.m.

This year has a no-glass-container rule but unlimited potential for fun! Tickets will be available on the Museum’s website, the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce site, or you can buy them at the gate.

Texas was colonized by steamboats and maritime history has played a large part in the growth and economy of Rockport, which just makes the festival not only a unique coastal celebration, but it supports an important part of local heritage. As a 501c (3) organization, the Museum does not receive state funding, relying on fundraising from events and memberships, so this is a good cause as well as an awesome party and cultural event.

Don’t miss out on the 25th Annual Rockport Wine Festival. The greater Rockport community, its corporate sponsors, volunteers, and the Museum Board of Directors invite you to eat, drink, laugh, dance, and enjoy live music performances on the grounds at 1202 Navigation Circle, Rockport Texas. So, save the date: May 28!
